TEST DRIVE MEME

Welcome to Dyspros' second test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on June 8th at 12:01 AM (EST). A ; NEW RECRUIT
Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.
B ; MISSION TIME
It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Haha, fat chance.

No, you're stuck with your partner checking things off Mage Guildmaster Ossidia's shopping list. Lizard tails, pig hearts, bird feathers—seriously, can't she get these things herself? But then you get to the stranger items on the list: a lock of natural pink hair, the saliva of a glutton, the tears of a male virgin... Don't ask. Get to work!
C ; STORM THE CASTLE
Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

[For someone who is supposed to be the assassin class to make it easier for information gathering, Noiz actually doesn't seem to be hiding about at all. In fact, he has a list in hand of things he needs to get, and instead of hiding in shadows--he's hiding in the crowd instead. Call it another tactic, but really it just didn't seem worth it to try and be discreet over something like this.

Over a shopping list.

He stares blankly at the list, seemingly uncaring, though really he's bored already.

Yet, there's a few items on here that seem out of place--]

[This is much more entertaining. There's a cocky smirk on Noiz's face as he steps into the next room. Whoever he's with will have to deal with him running off ahead, sadly, because it's just a bad habit he has. At least in this case he won't go 100% missing.

Still, before anyone actually arrives he's rushing forward, aiming to punch the living daylights out of what's up ahead.]

[ he's just gotten this mission assigned to him, and is looking over the details with displeasure. never had he expected the terms would be as his own Legion's expeditions, but he'd at least like to think he was of more use than he could possibly be piddling through a grocery store for some woman's shopping list. these items, though... they weren't quite what he had anticipated. ]

...The saliva of a glutton? Gross.

[ death had never been an option, nor a concern. these foes, though he would not underestimate their strength, were hardly on par with the titans. on his first sight of them, the disappointment he had felt had been palpable. but nonetheless, if they pose a threat and he has the means to take them down, he'll consider it his duty for the time being. a castle is no place for a mount, so adverse to his chosen class, Levi strides around the castle on his feet. also adverse to it are the twin blades he carries, but he'd let no restrictions tie him down to a weapon he was less capable with.

as of now, said twin blades are ripping into a monster, not a hint of either fear or enjoyment on their owner's face. ]

[This is ridiculous.

Rise keeps walking amongst the crowd, stopping and staring at the list. Walking, stopping and staring. More walking and more staring. She's brand new to this place, and secretly the large city makes her a little nervous and scared to get lost (she's been spending too much time in the little town of Inaba apparently). But even coming from a small town, the Performer knows that quite a few of these items can't be found in a regular store.

Finally she just groans in frustration. Seriously, what the heck kind of shopping list is this.]

Pig tails and lizard hearts? This is so lame. Why can't she tell us where to find these? Or better yet, get them herself?! Gee...

D;

[So to say that Rise was nervous about these missions was a little bit of an understatement. Sure, she would be going in a group, but it wouldn't be the group that she knows. Without Senpai and the others, she was a tad bit nervous to go with the other adventurers. What if they bailed on her and left her to fend for herself? What if these new found powers didn't work as well as they should?

She has been curious about being a Bard now, but she won't risk a mission in order to find out. So she's out and about in the shopping district, trying to find someone who doesn't look too busy to experiment on.]

A! at the seven titans;;

[there is a mournful looking boy staring at his empty bowl in front of him. He's not accustomed to eating this little, especially after being spoiled by the Black Order's cafeteria. Allen glances around, stomach growling nonstop since an hour ago, and sidles over to the nearest person with food. Hopeful eyes are a go--]

Um, pardon me, but are you going to finish that?

D!

[despite it usually being fairly quiet during the day in the silverbourne district, home of the entertainer guilds, today there seems to be some commotion. A clown, neither bard or dancer, has taken the stage in the center of the square today with his ball-balancing and juggling acts. Allen's been at this for a week or so thanks to still being hesitant about joining a guild, and he might be able to pull it off for a day more, that is, if he gets tipped well!]

[He vaults off the ball and lands neatly on the floor to scattered applause. Oh, and now he's holding out his cap to the nearest person. Feel like tipping a clown?? Or stealing from one?? Or just asking if he's a reject from the performer's guild?? He'll field your questions, as long as he gets something out of it!]

A.

[ Between the Pugilists and the Berserkers, Eren had a difficult time choosing between what he felt fit him the most. He hated that the Berserker class actually suited him in terms of what powers he'd like to have, because the word held implications about his overall personality. He had always been teased for being reckless and he did score relatively low on strategy, but he'd like to think he had more control over himself than that -- he was simply driven.

But it didn't matter. The offense he took to it was minuscule compared to his determination to learn more about this new world. Though, without Armin by his side, he felt a little guilty being able to experience a new land.

Anyway, META aside, Eren has chosen Pugilists as his class/guild, though it took a bit of convincing on Mikasa's part. The set-up of the housing is a little jarring for him since the architecture is so different from what he's used to.

And since he has no knowledge of any Asian culture, he steps up and into a room without removing his shoes, scanning the area until his eyes meet another person's. ]

Hey! [ He gives a small wave after a bit of hesitation; he had almost saluted the individual out of habit instead. ] Excuse me... Is this the right way to the bathrooms...? [ He lifts a tentative hand as he gestures to the next door. His hands are filthy with a bit of dirt. ]

[ Now, what the hell kind of mission is this?! Upon coming to this strange world, he figured his general purpose was to eradicate the monsters -- not do errands for a bunch of civilians who could hire just about anyone they wanted to. But as a soldier, Eren knew better than to argue with his superiors.

So whoever he's with, they'll find that he's not complaining despite how cranky he looks. He gives the list a hard, pointed look of scrutiny as he tries to decipher the meaning of the ingredients.

This sounds almost familiar, since he's heard of medicinal recipes that require ingredients that make no sense. Still, the tears of a virgin? A lock of natural pink hair? The first one was at least possible, but the second was unheard of.

He throws his partner a glance before turning away. ] Where are we gonna find all this stuff?

C.

[ Hey, guess what? Eren is terrible with teamwork, even though he's generally nice towards his squad. He has a bad habit of acting out of impulse, so before anyone can even begin to plan a strategy, he's already storming through the hall towards the first monster.

It's just a STANDERPIGNON, so it's just settled there, looking like a mushroom. Eren is going to tear that shit to pieces and go overboard. Please stop him before he makes any noises that might attract other monsters? ]

[ he said forty, fifty minutes tops. maybe even fifty-five, if he's feeling thorough. point is, you'd gone into this mission foolishly thinking you could depend on the eye-patched, chain-smoking blondie because he'd looked oh so genuine when he said trust me, but an hour and twelve minutes into what should have been a simple retrieval mission (of some apparent fancy shmancy spell book some matron is very secretive with) you're starting to wonder what the hell kind of spell you were under when you thought that that was going to be a good idea.

but just as you get up from your surveillance spot, ready to tear that door down and find out what the hell is going on, worick finally wanders out of the front door, looking just slightly more disheveled than before. a fight, maybe? his clothes are barely hanging on him anymore and...

. . .

oh for the love of— ]

Tootle-oo', darlin'~ [ a jaunty wave and an airkiss later, worick's lightly jogging away from the house to head on over to where you had earlier agreed to meet. IS THAT LIPSTICK ON HIS CHEEK? ]

Mission accomplished!

TOP BUNK ARU!

[Almost immediately after sampling the food at The Ugly Jackal, Kagura had rushed off to find the beds. And that's where she can be found now, ready to pounce on cushiest looking top bunk.

The problem with this is that she is literally trying to pounce on it. Forgetting that she is basically a normal human now, she attempts jump straight from the floor onto the top bunk she's selected. Instead, her face meets the wooden panels holding the mattress, and she's repelled to the floor with a howl of pain and a profusely bleeding nose.]

[In certain lights, her red hair appears pretty pink. And that is why she brandishing her axe at any of the quest shoppers, after one attempt on her hair has left her with a large chunk of missing bangs.]

[ it took a while for Serilda to get used to... wherever this place is, but considering she doesn't know how the fuck she got here in the first place, she might as well get used to it. hence, why she's in the Seven Titans eating her share of food and just people-watching. ]

You gotta be fucking kiddin' me.

[ Serilda looks at the list again and wonders how the hell she got roped into this—but then, a mission's a mission and she needs money and experience (god knows she already has experience making sure people stay dead for good), so she'll just grit her teeth and walk around the market, a giant black claymore strapped to her back making her stand out just a little bit more. ]

[For some strange reason, an unassuming high schooler dressed in his starter equipment seemed to be very intently reading the list of items, with an intense glare and a dramatic smile creeping on his face] Hehehe... gathering such trivial items will be nothing before the might of Dark Flame Master!

[Yuuta let out a sigh after that one. Clearly he had been hanging around Rikka too much lately.] Like I'd ever say that! I really hope no one heard that... But geez, I would be having a field day with this if I was still in junior high. Even though it's just a low level fetch quest! Guess there's nothing I can do but look for these... lizard tails, pig hearts, tears of a male virgi- wait, what?!

Option B

[Belarus can only sigh wearily. The sooner this is done the better. If they're not back by 4 it will be torture.]

Pigs, birds, lizards... I'll find a farm. Jump someone for the hair. Use Poland and Lithuania for the other two. Done in a day.

Option C
[this was more like it. She misses having a rifle; it won't be like fighting along with the partisans but it's still doing something.

Spirit of battle in mind, don't be too surprised if all her tactics amount to 'jump the thing and stab it a lot'. Don't expect much words of encouragement either; she's here for her own sake. And her Brother's.]
