TEST DRIVE MEME

So first of all, welcome to Dyspros' very first test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on May 4th at 12:01 AM (EST). Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message!

So now, without further ado, let's get to playing:

A ; NEW RECRUIT

Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.

B ; MISSION TIME

It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Too bad those missions are for the higher ups.

No, it's the middle of the night, and you're out guarding the small fields just outside of town from wild animals. Right now you're standing by the cucumbers, which are considered especially important to guard, for some reason. You have to fight off sleepiness somehow, so maybe an animal will come out for you to scare off, or maybe you'll just end up chatting with whoever is stuck doing this with you.

Or you know, if you're a dick, you'll steal the vegetables for yourself.

C ; STORM THE CASTLE

Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

Yeah. [ He whispers, then hears a strange sort of sound come from behind the crops. It's snorty enough to be an animal, but the vocals of it almost sound human... which leads Hei to think it's monstrous. Great. Now he had someone to protect. ]

Maybe it's just hungry...

[treasoned]

Have you seen some of the monsters here? [ Yoh seems so unconcerned with the stick in his face. His hand just goes over the end of it, and he slowly pushes it down between them, along with Aoi's hand. ]

They're really scary.

[peacekeeping]

[ She furrows her brow as he begins to climb it, then shakes her head disapprovingly. Walking over to him, Louise gives the tail of his coat a tug. ]

No.

[peacekeeping]

[ Guildmates 4ever. Louise is glad to know it, because she's trying to prove something to herself, and she's found something to admire in Gwendolyn's ambition. Especially since she's another woman. ]

I prefer it quiet. [ It's easier to concentrate when she's not reminded of how she doesn't "get" many people anymore. ]

But not this quiet.

[dappster]

Why are you whispering...? [ He walks over to the crop without much regard for any danger. ] Let's go!

[peacekeeping]

I was hoping for something more eventful. [ She says sternly, though there's a hint of disappointment in her tone. It's not lingering on anything whiny, though. ]

A chance to prove myself. It feels like it's been hours.

[ Carnelia was what one might call an eccentric. People unfamiliar with her, though, might have a few more choice words to describe her; especially if their first impression was her unconscious body laid out before one of the guilds.

Oh, dear, it appears that she'd overexerted herself in her studies once more, and, while on a trip through town, passed out. It happens. In fact, it happens so often most of Goldvale's inhabitants don't seem to be too fazed by it.

Maybe you find it a bit more alarming? ]

[urdr]

[ She holds the match up to it until the flame catches, then promptly blows the match out as instructed. And with that done, she holds her spear again, since it might as well be like a security blanket for her, looking towards the field to see if she can see any silhouettes of things wandering around. ]

Then that should do well. If it is a timid creature, that will be more than enough to frighten it away.

[peacekeeping]

I have a mission to focus on. [ The usual flatness in her tone is betrayed by the slight edge to her words right now. Her eyes narrow; Louise had truthfully been ignoring him because she knew she'd lose her temper with him. She could tell it wasn't a good match. ]

And I'd much rather be tired than annoyed.

[dappster]

[ Wow, lowering his stick... fuck u. He just gives him a humoured look. ]

Don't worry. I didn't see anything about monsters in the job description.

[dappster]

[ Looking over his shoulder, ] But we can see better from up high, right?

[blacker]

Because I don't want to startle it more... [ He whispers again, but then steps beside Aoi. He's waiting for you to lead the way, man. ]

[blacker]

[ Why did they always need to know the whys and wherefores? People just needed to do as they were told in these situations. He didn't really want another girl killed under his watch. ]

What makes you think you can take these creatures on by yourself?

[peacekeeping]

... [ She seems to consider this for a moment. ]

You can go up there. I'll stand guard. Some of the creatures here fly.

[treasoned]

Monsters wouldn't be scary if they were predictable. [ He mutters, then hears more rustling. He shifts even more behind Aoi... ]

Can you fight?

[dappster]

Hopefully... I don't think I'm quick enough to catch something like a rodent. [ He holds the branch up high, illuminating the space around them as he walks over to the crops, expecting her to follow. ]

[dappster]

But wouldn't that be the point? [ He shifts through toward the crop, pushing the stocks out of the way as he ventures inside. ]

[treasoned]

[ Being a Gambler, he's been trying to become acquainted with the area in the best way he knows how: Lying his way into good graces, making up various life stories, and using his sleight of hand to extract what he needed for survival purposes. He was just watching over his shoulder as he walked away from a new friend when he bumps right into somebody. ]

Oh.

[ He stares, his hand having sought out whatever it could find in Itachi's coat at the miniature collusion, meanwhile. ]

Sorry ... it's easy to get distracted when everything's so new.

[dappster]

I've got some training, yeah... But I don't have any weapons. [ Scratching his head... ] I'm not planning on risking my life for cucumbers.

[defendre]

A defenseless girl lying on the ground, open to all those who might commit dastardly deeds against her? As champion of good and father of two, I won't have any of this!

[ Alexander doesn't realize that this is Carnelia. Why? He's blinded by this person's needs! This is a good thing in some cases. In some cases.

He easily lifts her up and carries her over his shoulder. ]

Come, lass! We shall give you a proper bed at the nearest inn at once! Onward!

[ Now he's just making a scene. ]

[dappster]

I haven't seen any since coming here. [ Climbing the tree, he's pretty flexible and agile. But he's going to struggle somewhat trying to reach a branch. ] Ugh...

[treasoned]

You don't have any weapons with you? [ He sounds worried, and a bit incredulous. ] Why wouldn't you bring something basic? If we're going to be on guard...

[blacker]

[ A twig goes whirling past Aoi's head. So close that it makes a whistling sound right by his ear. ]

[dappster]

Because I'm guarding cucumbers. [ He sounds incredulous, himself. ] If there's going to be animals roaming around, it won't take much to scare them off. Just make lots of noise.

[dappster]

[ Shouts in surprise, trips, falls back. ]
