TEST DRIVE MEME

So first of all, welcome to Dyspros' very first test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on May 4th at 12:01 AM (EST). Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message!

So now, without further ado, let's get to playing:

A ; NEW RECRUIT
Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.
B ; MISSION TIME
It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Too bad those missions are for the higher ups.

No, it's the middle of the night, and you're out guarding the small fields just outside of town from wild animals. Right now you're standing by the cucumbers, which are considered especially important to guard, for some reason. You have to fight off sleepiness somehow, so maybe an animal will come out for you to scare off, or maybe you'll just end up chatting with whoever is stuck doing this with you.

Or you know, if you're a dick, you'll steal the vegetables for yourself.
C ; STORM THE CASTLE
Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

[ and this squirt of an urchin kid is squatting in a nearby corner, a big loaf of bread in his hands and looking up at Guts with a raised eyebrow. Most people would say it was a little gross in the guild, but it was actually pretty nice in Apollo's eyes. Better than the dumpster behind a restaraunt, anyway. ]

[And of course she's following along at a good pace...!]

I don't know! Do cats even like cucumbers, I wonder?

[ nope... ]

What, are you deaf? I said get your own. There's a ton of 'em all around. I'm not going to get food for some girl I don't even know.

B: Mission Time :

[ Though things had been anything but boring with Lady Farnese, Serpico had still been quite accustomed to sitting around with nothing to do with long intervals of time. In fact, this isn't even his first mission assigned in doing something so innocuous. He is knelled in the grass of the fields, having just adjusted certain traps for wild animals (to eat, of course). Now? He's planting some seeds. He's already experienced how boring this type of mission had been, and resolved to never be so bored again.

He sighs as he pats the soil, his weapon sheathed and hidden beneath his cloak. ]

At least it's not raining tonight.

[That earns another laugh, cheerful and light.]

Should I?

[...hahah.]

Back where I come from, you'd usually just get a good fence and a good guard dog.

[ THIS DITSY GUY???? He just grimaces before actually looking skeptical. ]

We should probably check it out, though, right?

Why, thank you. [ LMAO!!! SO RUDE. YOU BRAT! But he smiles through his disapproval, since... she's a kid in a stupid situation. At least this isn't dangerous. Still, shouldn't she be sleeping?! It's so late!! But she seems so energetic. ]

Did you want to try?

[ He just keeps shooting Ali that judgmental look of his (IT'S SO POWERFUL!!! ) and turns to start walking around the border of the field. ]

That kind of reconnaissance doesn't sound worthwhile, does it? Jeez, I can't even see anything in the dark like this anyway.

[ Yogi always seems to show up at the right times just to save your butt, doesn't he? You should be forever grateful to him!

... Though in actuality when Yogi spies the boy in hiding, he is completely unaware of his situation or why on Earth he could be hanging out in a place like this. Not like any of that mattered though- his friend was here! And what kind of friend would he be without a proper greeting? ]

Oh! Hello Gareki-kun! [ Blowing his cover? Oblivious. ] Aaah, I didn't know you were going to be here! Are you playing a game?

[ Because really the only reason he can think of Gareki being such a location would be nothing more than playing hide-and-go-seek or something! What fun! ]

[Oh, she would dare, if she had reputation or power to back her up - that she doesn't is the only thing stopping her. It's as though her princess crown has been ripped off her head, and she is not at all pleased.]

[And now she's not going to get one, just because to get her own would be backing down. And she will not back down to this boy. Instead, she smiles with a hint of tooth flashing.]

Do you have trouble moving your arms to reach back twenty centimeters and grab something? I wouldn't have thought.

It's Kuroyukihime. [And it'd do you well to remember it, goes the unspoken.]

[ Watch where you're going!! Anyway, Aoi is a toothpick, so crashing into the kid sends him flying back. ]

Hey!!

No, that's perfect! You can't get any bigger than that anyway. [ He tips the branch, presenting the wrapped tip to her. ] Just set this part on fire and blow the match out after you're done.

[ HOW IS IT RUDE?? SHE'S JUST BEING HONEST!!

She blinks in surprise. He's asking her to try? ]

[ She nods enthusiastically. ]

Yeah!!

Huh... that's a good point. But cats will eat anything it seems like. I've never been much of a cat person. [ He squints into the field as they walk, trying to see if he can make out any movements in the stocks. ] Do you like cucumbers?

[ Ah, but wait! She needs to contemplate for a moment. Channel her creativity like all great artists! ]

[ Aoi had just been purposefully walking toward the tree. ]

Kind of... Maybe some exercise should wake us up. Let's stretch our legs! [ He hadn't been too put off by how quiet she was. He just gave up after multiple attempts to initiate conversation with her. He's understanding, so he doesn't push.

Anyway, he's grabbing onto the tree and trying to climb it now. ]

[ After a few seconds, she starts to draw on the ground. And here is her brilliant artwork:

She turns to him with a proud grin. Now do you see who's the superior artist, Aoi? ]

[ IT'S NOT ANY DIFFERENT FROM HIS..... LMFAO HE LAUGHS THOUGH. He can't hold back laughter, he's so bad at straight facing. HE BITES HIS LIP TO SUPPRESS IT SOMEWHAT. ]

Amazing!! Maybe you should try drawing with reference, though. How about me? Can you draw me? [ He points to himself! ]

[ It's always nice to have somebody who's looking out for you when you're in an adjustment period. There's something "big brotherly" about this guy as he approaches, a sweet smile on his face, even as one eye is mostly obscured by a stupid emo haircut. He places a hand on his/her back, looking reassuringly and amicable. ]

I couldn't help but notice you seem lost. Are you new here?

[ He might have just pickpocketed you. He's a bit of a klepto... ]

[ Truth be told, he was tired of this entire shift. He looks at Aoi with a flash of exasperation (with the situation, not him), then sighs resignedly. ]

I guess I should check it out. You can just back me up if you'd like...

[ He glances over to the tall grass and crops of the fields. ]

It's probably just a pig.

B;

[ Yoh definitely heard that. He actually shifts behind Aoi a bit, holding on to the weapon fastened at his side more tightly as he peeks over his shoulder, and at the very same time, he says: ]

Did you hear that?

[ To Aoi. ]

A pig...? Like a farm pig? [ He gets up to his feet, tossing the stick aside with a sigh, himself. ] Let's go. It's our job to chase off whatever it is. I feel kinda bad, though. Don't you?

[ Whoa, when the fuck did you get behind him? He kind of jumps up to his feet hurriedly, whirling around to face him and point the stick at his face... ]
