TEST DRIVE MEME

So first of all, welcome to Dyspros' very first test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on May 4th at 12:01 AM (EST). Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message!

So now, without further ado, let's get to playing:

A ; NEW RECRUIT

Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.

B ; MISSION TIME

It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Too bad those missions are for the higher ups.

No, it's the middle of the night, and you're out guarding the small fields just outside of town from wild animals. Right now you're standing by the cucumbers, which are considered especially important to guard, for some reason. You have to fight off sleepiness somehow, so maybe an animal will come out for you to scare off, or maybe you'll just end up chatting with whoever is stuck doing this with you.

Or you know, if you're a dick, you'll steal the vegetables for yourself.

C ; STORM THE CASTLE

Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

I get that a lot, but I'm sure that I'll be able to grow more! I haven't stopped growing yet.

[If he has to drink gallons of milk, then so be it... And oh, look. Somebody is talking with his mouth full.]

Don't count on growing. I don't see it happening.

[You'll be stuck looking like a eight year old while Gareki grows into a even more handsome, tall manly man. With even better looking abs and all of that good stuff.]

And geez, don't talk with your mouth full. You'll end up spitting the food all over the place.

[Somehow, Gareki managed to understand that garbled nonsense as strange as that maybe. It was still pretty gross to look at though.]

[ ...!! ] [Wow, anyone would protest after such a rude statement. Though, since Gareki says that it isn't cute and that he shouldn't talk with his mouth full... Nuri instead closes his mouth fully.

Even has he pouts, cheeks extra inflated due to the food. They turn a little reddish out of some kind of annoyance. He's not pleased about the other boy's first statement, of course.

He swallows eventually, then is able to finally talk again.]

Hyeong is so mean!

...'Hyeong'?

[Excuse me, what? What the heck did this kid call him? His automatic assumption is that it's some for of insult in the boy's native language.

That earns a cheek pinch.]

My name is Gareki you twerp.

[Oh wait... did he just accidentally introduce himself there?!]

Tch...

... Ouch!

[Nuri automatically recoils from the cheek pinching, clearly not liking the sting sensation. He rubs his poor cheek right after, staring at Gareki for a few seconds before it caught up to him.

Ohh, he just gave him his name! This surely is a sign for the beginning of a further partnership!]

—Hyeong is "hyung!" Gareki-hyung!

[Even though he didn't give a precise definition, it should be familiar by now. Gareki onii-chan. c:]

It's nice to meet you! I'm Nuri.

That doesn't tell me anything!

[Gareki would have pinched him harder out of annoyance. Unfortunately for him, Nuri backed away.]

And I didn't ask for your name, Nuri-brat.

[... Yet Gareki ended up saying it anyway.

He'll get creative with his namecalling later. This kid is really tiring him out right now, and he hasn't been able to completely enjoy his bagel...]

[Nuri just recalled about the different worlds jazz, so.]

It means "big brother!" In my country, younger boys address older males with that. Girls use "oppa" for older males.

And, it's okay! It's only right that I give it since you gave me yours, Gareki-hyung.

[Okay, it wasn't offensive like Gareki had originally thought. But he's going to go ahead and pinch Nuri's cheeks anyway because he felt like doing so.]

And who gave you permission to refer to me as such?

[He certainly didn't, that's for sure!]

[Gareki needs to stop that. Nuri's cheeks will be permanently reddish at this rate... Displeased with getting another pinch, he lets out a noise of complaint.]

I, It's not that weird! It's a common habit where I'm from... Are you being shy again?

[Well if that isn't a familiar face she didn't expect to see. Hiling looks him over for a moment, considering her options. He's being friendly, so she should be friendly too. She had been trying to keep a low profile in case the enemy was around, but that doesn't matter so much around him. She lowers her hood to reveal a shock of green hair and bright eyes that look up at him.]

That would be right. Actually, I'm a little lost.

[Nuri needs to stop saying weird things that set Gareki off. Otherwise, this cycle will never stop.]

I-I'm not being shy...!

[This is how he always is! Stop being so infuriating!]

And that's not common where I'm from!

[The other boy's equally reddish cheeks aren't very convincing. Actually, they might actually be even redder than Nuri's.

It makes him easily smile.]

... You're a cute person, Gareki!

[Okay, there. He dropped the honorific just for him... If it causes Gareki to become embarrassed, he'll just say without it.]

[Man, when you come from a world where The Guild is a singular thing and you are 100% from that place, being asked about guild membership is so weird.

But yeah, sure. He nods. Why does she need guild members...] Are you doing a mission...?

Are you stupid?!

[He should have clobbered him. In fact, why isn't he doing it right now?! It's probably because he can't wrap his head around the fact that Nuri is actually fifteen and not eight.

Well, it doesn't matter. Gareki has had enough of this person.]

Tch, I'm totally done with this place. If I stick around any longer, I might catch the idiot disease or something.

[One last cheek pinch and he's off running.

Forget the reward money. His patience as ran out.]

It doesn't look fake, but... The color. [ NO OFFENSE OR ANYTHING, PRINCESS. While she steps back, Sidel only steps forward to investigate her hair.

Maybe even reaching over to gently hold a couple of strands. ]

That. [ HE POINTS TO THE MOST EXOTIC OF OUTFITS that is supposed to be god tier armor or something.

But those kids actually look their age? You kind of look... [ Give him a moment as he looks Dave up and down. It's kind of hard to say! Let him put a number on you anyway-- ]

Well, twelve. [ Okay, he's exaggerating, but might as well. ]

That's right. [She nods, before her expression takes a turn a bit sad. Probably.]

I'm not close to anyone in this world, so asking around like this... it's a little awkward, you see. Still willing to lend me those hands?

A-ah... [ He isn't offended at all by that since he knew he was more than distracted on finding a way out of here. His sister isn't here... So he should get the move on--

But then he notices that she looks familiar. It's a vague memory, but familiar. ]

[The suspense here is killing him. He flaps a hand, pfff awkward feelings who needs those.]

Well, I'm not busy. What's the mission?

[Nuri is too slow to catch up on the fact that Gareki is leaving for real. He just thinks he needs a short break. (A jog is nice, especially on a chilly evening.)

That's only why he didn't chase him or convince him to stay—]

... Oh, I'll be waiting! Take your time on your walk!

[He'll even wave an arm at him... Though, Gareki should reconsider his option because it's not exactly a good move to leave an idiot like Nuri all alone.]

Alright. [And, taking a rolled up piece of paper out of her pouch and showing it to him. LETS... PRETEND THAT'S HOW MISSION BRIEFINGS WORK FOR A BIT OKAY.]

Just a bounty mission... it could be potentially dangerous. [It's Rank 1, please.] Not against those, are you?

[Does he look like he's opposed to potentially dangerous -- actually he probably does, but he's not, promise.]
