TEST DRIVE MEME

So first of all, welcome to Dyspros' very first test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on May 4th at 12:01 AM (EST). Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message!

So now, without further ado, let's get to playing:

A ; NEW RECRUIT

Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.

B ; MISSION TIME

It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Too bad those missions are for the higher ups.

No, it's the middle of the night, and you're out guarding the small fields just outside of town from wild animals. Right now you're standing by the cucumbers, which are considered especially important to guard, for some reason. You have to fight off sleepiness somehow, so maybe an animal will come out for you to scare off, or maybe you'll just end up chatting with whoever is stuck doing this with you.

Or you know, if you're a dick, you'll steal the vegetables for yourself.

C ; STORM THE CASTLE

Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

[Not knowing who his partner was until the mission started, he came prepared for the worse but Ace was proving to be someone he wouldn't mind working alongside with. As far as he could observe, Ace was calm and alert, both traits he valued in a person. Their lack of words however, was proving to be a hindrance to keeping wake, at least for himself. To be honest, he missed the laughters and chatters of his comrades as well as the mechanical chime of the Haros whenever he worked in the hangar. Being alone in a foreign world and having only his own thoughts for company, he was beginning to feel the weight of loneliness. However, none of that had anything to do with his mission, neither were they helpful in any manner so he pushed his thoughts to the back of his mind.

Pausing in his steps, he looked down to his partner and asked in a slightly exasperated tone.] I am not going to risk falling asleep and fail the mission for both of us.

[ The tone in Tieria's words were already more than enough for him to guess what was on his mind, and the meaning of the words that he said in that said tone proved it even further. Ace, though, wouldn't disagree to Tieria's point. Staying like that would only pull the trigger of his eyes to close. ]

Your concern is most appreciated. [ He sighs, before he rises from his seat. ] But to be quite honest, I am not sure whether I am going to be able to keep my eyes open if I were to reside like how I was just now further.

[ Read: He's coming with you. And he's not taking 'no' as an answer. ]

Fine with me. [Picking up the shield from the ground, he buckled it to his arm securely and set out for their patrol. Unused to lunging heavy lance and shield around, he grimaced internally to himself. Only the fact that he had to get used to them in order to master them kept him from abandoning his weapons. He was actually thankful that as a newcomer, he hadn't been given real armor yet because he wasn't sure if he would be able to move in decent speed otherwise.

Making small chatter was no specialty of his but the last thing he needed was to bore himself and possibly Ace to sleep on patrol. Not to mention, some noise could be good deterrent as they warned trespassers of guards stationed on the field.] Have you explored the city?

[His eyes darted across the field, alert and watching for any sign of movement while they make their round together.]

[ Tieria's strict answer was all it takes for Ace to tighten the bag of throwing knives around his hip tighter. While unlike Tieria, who seemed to yet to adapt to his current weapon, Ace was already used to carry that much with him. Well, the comparison of the weights between a lance and throwing knives were uncanny as well. So that might be rather invalid.

At first, Ace thought that he was going to be the one to initiate the conversation between them, but since Tieria seemed to be taking the lead... Why not? ] I have. [ A slight pause. ] Not much, however. You?

[ While he spoke, his eyes traveled around the other side of the farm, trying their best to notice even the slightest of a movement. If there was any around. ]

[It didn't take too long to for him to realized that neither Ace or himself were any good in making small talks. While Tieria himself didn't normally care about it, right now however, was a time where he would actually prefer someone who were more sociable than himself. At least then, they would be able to progress their chatter easier.]

I haven't seen the whole city yet but it looks like there are different districts with distinctive roles. I've only had the chance to explore Steelmount and Tinwick.

[Still vigilant, he watches the perimeter, adjusting the lance periodically so he could carry it comfortably.]
