TEST DRIVE MEME

So first of all, welcome to Dyspros' very first test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on May 4th at 12:01 AM (EST). Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message!

So now, without further ado, let's get to playing:

A ; NEW RECRUIT
Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.
B ; MISSION TIME
It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Too bad those missions are for the higher ups.

No, it's the middle of the night, and you're out guarding the small fields just outside of town from wild animals. Right now you're standing by the cucumbers, which are considered especially important to guard, for some reason. You have to fight off sleepiness somehow, so maybe an animal will come out for you to scare off, or maybe you'll just end up chatting with whoever is stuck doing this with you.

Or you know, if you're a dick, you'll steal the vegetables for yourself.
C ; STORM THE CASTLE
Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

[ Carnelia was what one might call an eccentric. People unfamiliar with her, though, might have a few more choice words to describe her; especially if their first impression was her unconscious body laid out before one of the guilds.

Oh, dear, it appears that she'd overexerted herself in her studies once more, and, while on a trip through town, passed out. It happens. In fact, it happens so often most of Goldvale's inhabitants don't seem to be too fazed by it.

Maybe you find it a bit more alarming? ]

A defenseless girl lying on the ground, open to all those who might commit dastardly deeds against her? As champion of good and father of two, I won't have any of this!

[ Alexander doesn't realize that this is Carnelia. Why? He's blinded by this person's needs! This is a good thing in some cases. In some cases.

He easily lifts her up and carries her over his shoulder. ]

Come, lass! We shall give you a proper bed at the nearest inn at once! Onward!

[ Now he's just making a scene. ]

[ it's not until Alexander's speech is done (alas, it falls upon deaf ears) that Carnelia stirs. She can't claim to completely remember what she's doing, especially considering she's pretty dehydrated right now, but she's pretty sure she didn't fall asleep on someone's shoulder.

Pretty sure, at least. When she turns her head to see that it's Alexander, a smile curls on her face. ]

[ whispered to herself: ] Ah, so this is what one might call 'chivalry', yes? Perhaps I have found my next thesis.. Chivalry is, in fact, alive and well. I'll need to conduct a substantial amount of field research first, however.. [ feigning a dramatic hand to her forehead. ] Oh, Alexander Ametri, my savior! What would Goldvale be without this paragon of our time?

Oh, Ms. Schreibfeder!

[ He doesn't seem fazed by her act at all. He believes it. It's natural. ]

Hahaha, no need to thank me! As a knight and champion of good, I'm more that happy to help a child in need. I didn't realize it was you—nor did I realize that you've already recovered. How fast does youth spring back up to its feet! Even so, a growing girl must get her rest.

[ Everyone younger than him is a growing girl. ]

I must ask of you a favor, gallant Alexander. Fetch of me an orange juice and one of Goldvale's finest pickles. It is the salve that will restore my energy, I'm sure of it.. my studies tell me so.

[ let's see how deep the rabbit hole goes!! ]

You will surely be regarded as a legend if you accomplish this task or me, Alexander.

A legend, you say? Hoh, child, I am more than accomplished in—a glass of orange juice, was it? Well, I'm not averse to fetching citrus drinks and cucumbers of any kind.

[ ah... he fell for it... ]

[He steps out of the guild after acquiring a new mission and is about to set off for it when he notices a body on the ground. Raising an eye at what looks a female body, he approaches with care and kneels beside her. While it's not uncommon to see people sleep on the street, this woman is too well dressed to be homeless. Is she unconscious or a thief...? He dismissed the later thought, no thief is brave enough to commit robbery in broad daylight in front of Scarlett Dragons' doorstep.]

Hey. [Shaking her body, not too gently but he's not rough either.] Hey. Wake up.
