TEST DRIVE MEME

So first of all, welcome to Dyspros' very first test drive meme! We're happy that you're interested in the game, and we hope that you have some fun playing with the setting, regardless of whether you decide to join or not.

As a general reminder, we recommend that you look over the game information before jumping in. In addition, if you decide you're ready to join, you're welcome to put in a reserve, and applications will open on May 4th at 12:01 AM (EST). Finally, if you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message!

So now, without further ado, let's get to playing:

A ; NEW RECRUIT

Well then, welcome to the guild, Initiate! After some thought (or maybe the choice was obvious), you've finally settled on a guild, and you're ready to get started. You're welcome to check out your accommodations and see what kind of people you'll be living with for the foreseeable future. This is your home now, so hopefully you get alone with them. If not, then you can just spend all of your time sharpening your skills!

Whether you're just claiming your bed or you're jumping right into the thick of things to practice or sign up for a mission, a new recruit is unlikely to go unnoticed.

B ; MISSION TIME

It's your first mission, which is pretty exciting, right? You have all these pictures in your head of going off to fight a dragon, to come home with great riches and valor...

Too bad those missions are for the higher ups.

No, it's the middle of the night, and you're out guarding the small fields just outside of town from wild animals. Right now you're standing by the cucumbers, which are considered especially important to guard, for some reason. You have to fight off sleepiness somehow, so maybe an animal will come out for you to scare off, or maybe you'll just end up chatting with whoever is stuck doing this with you.

Or you know, if you're a dick, you'll steal the vegetables for yourself.

C ; STORM THE CASTLE

Okay, the missions for initiates are pretty lame, and you're ready for some real fighting. You can go alone, or you can go with some other people, but it's off to Castle Dyspros! You'll find a variety of creatures to fight, and the power of teamwork will help you make progress through the castle!

Or you'll die. There's that too. Good thing it's fairly inconsequential, if weird!

Either way, have fun fighting to your heart's content!

[ trainwreck of feels Ace is not going to do anything much but to stare worriedly at her. His tone is full of worry as well. ]

You're still with me, right?

[ Tieria's strict answer was all it takes for Ace to tighten the bag of throwing knives around his hip tighter. While unlike Tieria, who seemed to yet to adapt to his current weapon, Ace was already used to carry that much with him. Well, the comparison of the weights between a lance and throwing knives were uncanny as well. So that might be rather invalid.

At first, Ace thought that he was going to be the one to initiate the conversation between them, but since Tieria seemed to be taking the lead... Why not? ] I have. [ A slight pause. ] Not much, however. You?

[ While he spoke, his eyes traveled around the other side of the farm, trying their best to notice even the slightest of a movement. If there was any around. ]

[Whoa, chill out weird girl. No need to get so excited.]

So you're really fine just sitting here all by your lonesome self, "people watching"?

[He glances over towards the group of kids playing.]

They sure look like they are having fun.

[He may or may not be egging her on...]

[This may have been the second time that some kid who barely knew him called Gareki a "good person". He's almost tempted to smack the kid around with the cucumber he ended up picking. A good hit in the head would end up knock some sense into the kid.

But before he could even do anything, the brat went off on his own to buy food despite Gareki's earlier objections.]

Tch, idiot! I said I didn't want any!!

[Maybe he should just ditch the area. And the kid would come back to an empty field with a meal for two. Yeah. That sounds like a totally great plan.

And Gareki was prepared to leave and not come back. But a couple of minutes later, he's standing guard over the garden again. And his excuse? This is still technically a mission and he won't leave things unfinished.]

I think you've already done that! I was just yelling to make sure you could hear me proper—!!!

[Oh, this time he did actually get hit. Luckily, it was only water, but now Gareki is completely drenched and even more annoyed.]

If you're going to take on a mission, then at least know who you're suppose be working with! This is my mission too!

[And Airi is clearly messing it up for the both of them. Yep. Let's totally put aside the fact that he was trying to steal from the garden himself.]

Or are you trying to chase me away so you can have the reward all to yourself! Is that what you're really plotting?!

[Such a devious mind for a girl in middle-school.]

Which ends up stirring some monsters awake. Not that Kougyoku's noticed! ]

[ Well, if she has to think about it, Kougyoku will be giving her lessons anyway, so it might as well happen. Besides, she doesn't see any obvious cons with being her friend. It's not too much to ask for...

But after a moment of thinking, she nods. ]

[ If he had name his crime to a stranger, of which he has no knowledge the lengths they've gone to get in trouble with the authority, it would go something like this:

A: What brings you here?

D: I stole a monkey.

Initially it would make almost no sense, because then he'd have to explain himself, and he'd also probably have to explain The Hangover 2 while he's at it, and holy shit — that'd be a lot of pointless rambling of which he has no clue she'd ever get.

So he decides to go the most opaque route, which would involve reaching back into the most primitive form of an answer: why he actually did it. ]

[Oblivious to Gareki's tsun pain, Nuri just keeps on happily going his way. (He certainly would've started admiring him even more if he ever finds out that he came back for him for the field.) So after a while, Nuri finally comes back while trotting a food bag.

It looks like he ran to the bakery, basing from the pieces of bread sticking out. He stands nearer Gareki before opening the bag further and holding it out nearer the older boy. Steam and a nice scent floats out.]

Do you want the ham and cheese bagel or the cinnamon pretzel?

[This kid actually went and bought food for him. What an idiot.]

I told you I didn't want any!

[Gareki says it really slowly this time so he's sure that the boy would be able to process it. Just as he was about to turn away, Gareki's eyes caught the bagel.

...Meat.]

Tch... since you bought it already, it'd be a waste.

[He's going to take the bagel but he'll continue to act that accepting the food is a big hassle.]

It's okay, you don't have to be shy! Because we're partners right now, we have to take care of each other!

[Clearly flawless -shounen hero- logic.]

Hmm... So, you don't like sweets and favor meat, huh?

[Somebody already has a certain someone figured out.]

[Gareki glares at him and chomps down on the bagel in favor of not having to speak anymore about the subject.

[WAY TO BE COOL, DICK. She's just going to pause for a second, wondering what would look cool when you're barely 5", before leaning backwards and just... kind of... rolling into one of those Heimlich maneuver-ish poses, feet and hands on the ground.

1.5 in Taijutsu and 1 in Strength. Still pretty pleased with herself, okay!!!]

Think anyone's going to come while we're like this?

[The grin on that face makes him boil inside and he wants nothing but to wipe it off, preferably with Ali's own blood. This man who existed to feed on conflicts that cost far too much lives to count for. He will avenge Neil, definitely. He will take this monster down and end him. Definitely!

When he doesn't release his hand, Tieria didn't fret but instead he dugs his feet in and use it as a leverage to swing a kick at the mercenary.]

[He doesn't care about those questions and neither is he planning to answer to someone like Ali.]

Just a little somethin. [Still smiling politely, but...] You're a member of a guild, correct?

[It's rude to ask a girl for her age and weight so Gareki doesn't bother. Thankfully this is a lot less creepier compared to when Yogi suggesting a game of hide-and-seek.

But still... this is Gareki.]

[It didn't take too long to for him to realized that neither Ace or himself were any good in making small talks. While Tieria himself didn't normally care about it, right now however, was a time where he would actually prefer someone who were more sociable than himself. At least then, they would be able to progress their chatter easier.]

I haven't seen the whole city yet but it looks like there are different districts with distinctive roles. I've only had the chance to explore Steelmount and Tinwick.

[Still vigilant, he watches the perimeter, adjusting the lance periodically so he could carry it comfortably.]

You need to grow at least ten centimeters taller before you can say something like that! [ Elliot, whose rules are you quoting?? But before he can go on, he pauses at the sound of footsteps. Her angry stomping dance can't be that loud... The torkrote slowly shuffles closer, not bothering to hide its presence. ]

...But words are useless. If you're really one of the strongest, then you should show me! [ WHO WANTS TO DO A MONSTER FIGHTING COMPETITION Y/N ]

Nuri doesn't stay upset for long, though. If at all. He actually just says them as a reminding statement. He's also quick to be distracted by the scent that eventually floats up to him again.]

—Pretzel... [*^*!!!]

[Oh, he will. He's already enjoying it now in fact, since he didn't bother taking it out of the bag. He takes a bite out of what was sticking out.]

[Gareki steps in front of Nuri and then lowers his hand down towards the boy's head. Then he brings that hand close to himself, comparing their vast height difference.]

You seem pretty small to me.

[They may be the same age but Nuri is still very small in comparison.]

Tch... Eat your food properly. You eat like you've been starving for several days now.
